Visiting Properties
Once you've determined your needs and preferences, it's time to visit properties. Walking through potential homes can be a thrilling experience and provide you with the information necessary to make an informed decision.
What to Bring
Some items you may want to bring along on your visit include: a notepad and pen for taking notes; a flashlight for viewing dark or enclosed areas like a closet or basement; a tape measure for measuring rooms, doorways, windows, etc.; and a camera. These items can be of value when it comes time to making any decisions about a potential home.
What to Look For
Look at the property's size, condition, features, etc. Tell your Realtor® what you like and don't like about the property so that s/he can better help you find the ideal home.
Don't be afraid to ask questions about rooms, features, updates, maintenance, etc. If you feel that a question has not been answered, ask your Realtor to investigate the matter further. Don't feel like you're being nosy. Sellers expect that buyers will thoroughly evaluate their property and as a potential buyer, you have a right to know about conditions affecting the property.
Your Realtor wants you to be comfortable with your decision, so if you would like a second visit, don't hesitate to ask.
